At Tapline Electric, safety is part of how each job is planned and performed. Before work starts, our team reviews the scope, site conditions, electrical hazards, and project requirements. We communicate the plan with the crew and coordinate with the general contractor so work can proceed with hazards understood and responsibilities clear.
When work involves deenergized equipment or circuits, our crews coordinate with the responsible site personnel to identify energy sources and follow the applicable lockout/tagout procedure. Equipments is isolated, locked and tagged as required, and verified before work begins. Clear communication helps prevent unexpected energization while work is underway.
Electrical hazards are evaluated as part of planning the work. Our crews consider shock and arc-flash exposure, equipment condition, work areas, and the task being performed. Qualified personnel use appropriate work practices, tools, and protective equipment for hazards present. When conditions change, the crew pauses to reassess the work before proceeding.

Before starting a task, the crew reviews the work sequence, identifies site-specific hazards, and discusses how the work will be coordinated with other trades. The plan is revisited when the scope, site conditions, or surrounding work changes. Employees are encouraged to raise concerns and stop work when something does not appear safe.

Employees use task-appropriate personal protective equipments and inspect it before use. When work conditions require fall protection, the crew follows the applicable site requirements and uses suitable equipment for the task. Equipment is selected, inspected, and used according to its intended purpose and the projects procedures.
OSHA's construction standards address fall-protection requirements and system; the specific requirements depend on the work and conditions.

We work with the general contractor, owners, and other trades to understand site orientation requirements, work-area controls, schedule, and emergency procedures. Tapline Electric can coordinate project-specific safety documentation and pre-task information with the GC before mobilization, based on the projects requirements.
Every employee has the authority to pause work when they identify an unsafe condition or a change that could affect the crew. Hazards, near misses, and incidents are reported and reviewed so the appropriate people can respond, corrective actions can be taken, and lessons can be shared with the team.

Safety works best when the project team is aligned. Contact Tapline Electric to discuss your project scope, site requirements, and safety coordination needs.
